The Story...
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is VERY loosely based on the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. That said, have you ever wondered what would happen if you took Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale and put it into a blender with Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and The 39 Steps? That’s just what happens in this lightning-fast, laugh-out-loud, 90 minute romp.

When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of a famed vampire hunter, Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Their hunt for the dangerous and sexy Count Dracula abounds with clever wordplay and quick-change antics. Five actors play over a dozen roles in this bloodcurdlingly hilarious send-up of the literary classic.

Our Director Says...
It has been a tremendous joy working with this cast, which is a delightful blend of seasoned pros and brand new theatre babes. They bring such a joy and energy to each rehearsal, and watching their performances come together from a rag-tag group to a really cohesive comedic team has been such a rewarding experience and worth all the stress of those early days.

Rehearsal Fun...

What the Critics Say:

“DRACULA: A COMEDY OF TERRORS goes for the jocular. Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen’s silly, sexy spoof…replaces horror with humor, centering on a pumped up, preening vampire who is suffering through an eternal-life crisis.” – Time Out New York

“Greenberg and Rosen’s anything-goes script brims with cleverness.” – Palm Beach Post

“[A] high camp post-modern reimagining, loaded with witty wordplay, pop culture references, silly slapstick, sleight-of-hand tricks, and special effects that are bloody hilarious.” – DC Theatre Arts
