Nathan Linders directed SOAP Theatre's reprise production of Boeing Boeing (previously staged by SOAP in 1992), which played at the Frank Venables Theatre in Oliver October 27-29, 2016.
British architect Bernard lives in Paris with his fiancée, TWA hostess Janet...Or is it Lufthansa hostess Johanna? Or is it Air France's Jacqueline? In fact, it's all three, but none of the three know about the other two.
With a master airline schedule in hand, Bernard is able to schedule time separately with each of his three fiancées in the same apartment at different times. Helping Bernard is his acerbic-tongued, efficient, but slightly tired live-in maid, Bertha, who has to manage three sets each of photographs, clothing and bed linens, and has to remember that it is Jacqueline who eats veal, Johanna who eats sauerkraut, and Janet who puts ketchup on just about anything. Bernard's friend, Robert, comes to Paris. Robert’s curiosity gets the better of him, and he finds himself embroiled – and increasingly invested – in Bernard’s misdeeds. Real trouble ensues when all three airline schedules are disrupted, upsetting the schedules of all three fiancées. |
